Empowerment is our mission.
At Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Indiana, we believe everyone deserves a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home.
For more than 30 years, we have brought people together to build homes, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for families across our region. Housing is more than a roof overhead—it is the foundation for financial stability, better health, stronger educational outcomes, and a brighter future.
Our work is rooted in partnership. We work alongside future homebuyers, volunteers, donors, businesses, faith communities, and local leaders to make affordable homeownership possible. By combining community support with the dedication and commitment of our partner families, we help create lasting change that extends far beyond the walls of a home.
Habitat homeowners are empowered to invest in their futures through affordable mortgage payments, financial education, and active participation in the homebuilding process. This model fosters independence, stability, and pride of ownership while helping families build equity and generational wealth.

About our local organization.
Since our founding in 1993, Habitat Southeast has expanded its impact throughout southeastern Indiana. In addition to building homes, we provide accessibility improvements through our ramp program and operate the Habitat ReStore, which helps fund our mission while keeping usable materials out of local landfills.
Today, the need for affordable housing is greater than ever. As our communities continue to grow, so does our commitment to ensuring that hardworking families have access to safe and affordable homeownership. With the support of our volunteers, donors, and community partners, we are building more than houses—we are building stronger communities and renewed hope for the future.

A strong foundation of values.
Guided by our Christian foundations, Habitat for Humanity seeks to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. While our mission is rooted in faith, our doors are open to everyone who shares a passion for strengthening communities and expanding access to affordable housing. By uniting people around a shared purpose, we help create lasting change that extends far beyond the homes we build.
